Reading Progress Monitoring

Progress Monitoring for SOME - Formative assessment used with students who may be at risk and/or are receiving interventions in order to:

  • Determine student progress
  • Evaluate intervention effectiveness

Curriculum-Based Measurement (ex. AIMsWeb) and Computer-Adaptive Testing (ex.STAR Reading) are used to answer the question:

  • Is learning the skill this way increasing the student’s achievement in this area?

Mastery Measurement (ex. assessments that are part of an intervention program, TenMarks) are used to answer the questions:

  • Did the student learn the specific skill or is re-teaching needed?
  • What are next steps?
